The Naked Truth

If you are as worried as I am about the H$U$ and Peta and groups like them taking our rights to own animals from us, this is the calendar for you. http://carpoc.org/calendar.html.

The California Responsible Pet Owners Coalition has photographed some of the biggest names in Dog Show Judging, and Professional Dog Show handlers in the nude . . . showing their dedication to our sport and our way of life.

Buy a calendar.

Here's from CARPOC's website:

You've been waiting far too long for those revealing secrets hidden between the sheets! The gloves are off (and anything else necessary). Top AKC judges & handlers provocatively exposed to defend our rights & halt the spread of the "antis"
anti-pet,anti-specific breeds, anti-breeding, & anti-animal ownership.

Just another -2F morning

Gracie is the only one who got to go out not wearing anything this morning. She's happy about that! Poor Pogo, has a hot spot on her hip. I was adding some grains to her food to put a little weight on her, and I think that's what made her itch.

Hey Jane! The 80s called. They want their colors back! I decided to take Laurie up on her offer of the teal and purple Foggy Mountain Turnout Coat for Jane. It's a great coat and it fits her well, and she can grow into it. My co-workers suggest that I "bedazzle" it. Um. No.

Love this song!

Best I Can, by Guy Davis. I have it on Root Awakening, a various artists disc. Love it!

I WILL TUG.

Anyone want a puppy?

This puppy is a Shar Pei mix? Pit mix? Guaranteed to make you itch, if you have sensitive skin.

Laurie has been fostering her for the SPCA. There are seven more litter mates looking for homes. This one is a pretty pushy puppy, who needed to be with dogs and people who are experienced and can teach her some rules.

She tried to push Jane around at first, but Jane put her paw down and now the puppy is very appropriate with adult dogs. She's a good puppy, but probably not for a first time dog owner.

New Recruits

These guys were born/lambed just before I got there this morning. The brown and white one was still wet. Shortly after I took this picture, a third popped out. Dot is a good mother; this is her third or fourth set of triplets.

These lambs are four or five days old. They are SO cute!!

Bad Shopping Day

Don't you hate it when you go shopping, and nothing you try on fits right?

Not everyone looks great in a red hot lycra body suit. Jane would. But, it's gappy in the shoulders, loose in the waist, loose in the thigh. Short in the front legs. And she needs a bikini wax if she was to wear this out and about.

Jane doesn't need a lycra suit or a wool sweater. She needs something warm and weather proof, like the OBTRACK coat, or a Foggy Mountain Turn Out Coat.

We don't have either in the store, so we tried some other things on her today. I love the Chilly Dog sweaters, but the arm holes are too small and close together. . .and if the Large doesn't fit Jane, it isn't going to fit many dogs, because she is lean, has a moderate depth of chest, and has long and well muscled legs (check out that bicep! BAM!). Plus, it's too short in the body.

Plus, pink isn't really her color. The skull & cross bones sweater comes in black, too, but it doesn't fit any better. We have a teal and purple Foggy Mountain Turn Out Coat at the store, that Laurie offered to Jane. I made an excuse about waiting till Jane is full grown to get one. . .by then, surely we'll have better colors available. This is a Border Collie, afterall!
